From Underground...Up to the Skies

Tree

As the seasons start changing and our City prepares to head into a new year, it’s a great time to briefly update you on two improvements in Hamilton that span from the ground to the sky.

From Under the Ground…
Communities are made great by their people, businesses, histories and culture, but it’s hard to be great if basic services such as water lines and sewage systems become dysfunctional. That’s why your city team was pleased when Hamilton was awarded a Texas Community Development Block Grant to improve water and sewer lines in the downtown shopping area. Though these improvements aren’t the most showy or exciting, they’re crucial to Hamilton’s functionality. Work is anticipated to start on or about March and will take about two months. If you have any questions about this project, please contact Pete Kampfer the City Administrator.

Up to the Skies...We’re pleased to report that another in a series of city grant applications resulted in funding and completion of several improvements to the Hamilton Municipal Airport. Using funds provided by the Federal Aviation Administration, the apron and taxi area has been repaved and restriped, further enhancing safety and appearance of the facility. Our airport is the welcome mat for many visiting business leaders looking for opportunity in Hamilton, as well as outdoor enthusiasts and other travelers. Airport operations are fully funded through hangar rent, fuel sales and other airport revenues without diverting resources from other projects and activities you expect from your city. The result is an asset that’s the envy of many other Texas cities. We hope you have a great holiday season. Watch for more information on the 2019 State of The City, coming in January.
